Chiropractic is an effective, dynamic, drug-free method of treatment to deal with musculoskeletal complaints which often lead to pain and misery.
Chiropractors often use gentle, specific adjustments (the chiropractic word for manipulation) done by hand, to free stiffened joints and remove spinal nerve irritation. The treatment may also include mobilization, ultrasound, stretching or strengthening of soft tissue and various other techniques to ensure that you are feeling well again as soon as possible.

Our aim is to reassure you, you are not on your own, we deal with back, neck, shoulder and other joint problems, every day and coupled with years of experience you can be sure you are in good hands. We pride ourselves in providing a thorough and professional examination to create an individually tailored treatment plan undertaken within a calm and relaxed setting.

In December 2016 the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) published its guidance to the NHS for treatment of low back pain and sciatica, which advocated manual therapy (spinal manipulation, mobilisation or soft tissue techniques such as massage) in treating low back pain and sciatica pain as part of a package including exercise.

Katherine began her studies at Kings College London in 1999, gaining her degree in Biomedical Science, specialising in Physiology and Neurology. Having decided to apply for graduate entry into Medicine, a slip and injury to her back, took her into a chiropractic clinic.

After receiving wonderful care and making an astonishingly quick recovery she decided she wanted to make a real difference to peoples’ lives in this way, and went on to study for a Chiropractic degree instead of Medicine.

Having graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2007 she went onto practise in London’s Canary Wharf, and then in her home town of Southsea, Portsmouth. It was at this point that she decided to set up her multidisciplinary chiropractic clinic in Southsea, in 2010.

“I really enjoy my job. I see patients come into the clinic on a daily basis, in pain or discomfort, and I get to make a real difference in their lives. I see patients improve and do things they thought they could never do again, put simply, this is the ultimate in job satisfaction.”

When Katherine created the concept behind Portsmouth Chiropractic, she knew how important an experienced practitioner striving for the very best in patient care was. She was determined to combine easy access, convenient booking and first class care all in a comfortable setting.

Since 2010, the chiropractic clinic has grown and developed and in 2015 recently moved to the 17th Century, Gatcombe House, where we offer first class chiropractic care in Portsmouth.

Katherine is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and a member of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA).
